Miss Silindile Nhlengetwa holds a Civil Engineering Diploma from the Durban University of Technology. She worked for Henwood and Nxumalo Consulting Engineers in the Construction of Main Road 577 (MR 577), a 14 km stretch from Duffs Road to New Germany, as a Civil Engineering Technician. The client for the road construction was the KwaZulu Natal Department of Transport Project and the project was worth over R600 million. Her responsibilities on MR 577 included:

• Supervision in the Construction of Service Culverts;
• Supervision in the Construction of 5 Pedestrian Bridges;
• Supervision of the Stage 1 Emerging Contractors and
• Preparation of Contract Documents.


She later joined eThekwini Transport Authority (ETA), and worked in the Traffic Operations Department of the eThekwini Municipality. Her responsibilities at ETA included:

• Traffic Management Planning;
• Supervision of Road Marking Contractor;
• Designs of Directional Signs and
• Dealing with public requests and concerns.


She now works for Linda Masinga & Associates and her responsibilities include; Housing Development, Project Facilitation and liaising with various stakeholders in the Housing Sector. The following are the projects she is involved in at LMA:

• Sundumbili Waste Water Treatment Works;
• Melville Sewer Upgrade Phase 1;
• Refurbishment of Gledhow Pump Station;
• Impendle Ward 1 Rural Housing Project and
• Gumbi Low Income Housing Project.
