Henry Masinga holds a Master’s Degree in Town Planning and is the founder of Linda Masinga & Associates (LMA). He has more than twenty years experience in a range of interdisciplinary activities which include development planning and facilitation, project management, project assessments, capacity building, empowerment training, transportation planning, housing development and stakeholder engagement. Henry has previously worked as a town planner for the biggest private landowner in KwaZulu-Natal, namely Tongaat-Hulett Properties.
His experience with this organisation has added practical value to his academic flair, thus intensifying his knowledge of development planning and property development in general. His planning involvement in projects such as the Umhlanga Newtown Centre, Umhlanga Gateway Shoppertainment Centre, Effingham Avoca Industrial Commercial Node (now Riverhorse Valley), proposed Shongweni Business Park, Mount Moriah Housing Scheme, and Mount Edgecombe and Zimbali Golf Course Estates are just a few examples which reflect the diversity of projects in which he has been involved. His appointment by eThekwini Metro Housing Unit as a consulting project manager for various housing projects has intensified his understanding of low cost housing and project management.
Over and above his role at LMA, Henry serves as a member of the KwaZulu Natal Development Planning Appeals Board. Henry is also a corporate member of the South African Planning Institute as well as the South African Property Owners Association.
